Maternity leave...

Today is day 2 of maternity leave and, unlike yesterday, where all I did was laundry and wait for deliveries, I got to enjoy the lifestyle of the non-working person. I had a leisurely morning, went to yoga at 10:30, had an appointment at 1, then came home to relax, hang out with Smokey and make a few calls. Later I'm heading out to a going-away celebration for a colleague and then Beach Blanket Babylon, a variety show about SF for which our friend Kathy scored some free tix. Gotta take the opportunity to go out while it lasts!

Otherwise, we continue to make small inroads in getting Jr.'s room ready. Yesterday I was able to set up the crib thanks to PB Kids giftcards from friends and my group at work. Sunday we bought the rest of what we needed and after washing it and much huffing and puffing to get the bedskirt set up and tie up all the bumper ties, it's now ready for him.

To Fraser's dismay, I haven't made much progress in cleaning the rest of the apartment. With my mom arriving on Sunday, I at least have a clear deadline ahead of me. Those of you who know me know I work best under deadline pressure, so the moving target of Jr.'s birth is kind of a problem - it keeps allowing me to procrastinate, and if he were to decide to pop this week, well, let's just say mom wouldn't be proud... =)
