Sitting up

This isn't super-timely, as it started sometime last week, but D is now able to sit up on his own pretty well. It's so great to watch his little head bobbing above the side rail of the crib. Now we can just surround him with toys and he'll keep himself entertained for a while (enough to run off and brush your teeth). Not that he doesn't still sometimes lose his balance, but more often than not when we come back in the room he's still upright.
Also, he's onto the fruit and veg now. He's had sweet potato and pear, tried avocado but really didn't care for it... =) I'm finding the various baby nutrition books quite discordant as to what exactly can be introduced when. I guess just with anything else, you just do your best and hope for the best. So far I've been making his food, but I have to say there are some great commercially-available frozen options these days (such as Happy Baby and Baby Cubes) that make a wonderful alternative to the jars. When I start working again, those will probably come in handy.
